My Drama Can Be Bought

Dear Journal: I just had to tell someone and you're the only one... Take a look at this, my author Ey Wade has made it possible to buy my story directly from her!! I'm so excited because as an author/entrepreneur, it means she will get 90% of the profit. Of course, if you prefer you could also buy from the traditional places.

"D.N.A.- Nothing Would Ever Be The Same" by Ey Wade on Ganxy

Sometimes, Getting Through the Hard is Hard.

I just had to tell someone and you're the only one...

Shock, fear and depression chased me until I ran from the guest house the main house to hide. As any child, I believed being around my parents would give me sanctuary. Even cuddled under their comforter didn't help.
Finally I found bookshelves of Mom's journals and I read them thinking I could learn something about my mom. Hoped it would give me a reason to why she disliked me. What I found out was worse than I could ever imagine...

 ****excerpt***

Stunned by the revelations, Debney sat petrified in the recliner as if turned into a pillar of salt. She should never have longed for a vision of the woman's past. The shock of being pregnant was replaced with the revulsion of the idea of her mom being a murderer.
What the damned hell? Every bit of profanity she could think of she shared loudly and repeatedly with the walls of the room. Along with the many journals she threw in every direction, every item she could find of her mother was targeted and thrown against the walls. Nothing would have made her happier than to have the opportunity to tear her mom from limb to limb and then throw her body parts in a pit of lions.
The urge to vomit overwhelmed her and she ran out of the room, barely making it across the hallway and down the short flight of stairs to the second floor, before losing her lunch. Washing her face, she laughed at her reflection in the mirror. She could have saved herself the rush of frantic steps by just going to the bathroom attached to her parents’ room, but she’d had it. She had to get out of the house as quick as possible.
The choice of making the guest house her home was definitely the best choice she ever made. Rushing down the last flight of steps she cursed her mom again. Who in hell was that woman? What kind of woman cheated on her husband for over ten years and fooled the man into rearing someone else's children.
"Oh my God."
The urge to collapse overwhelmed her and she had to pause before walking through the door. Leaning against the long, low table separating the living room from the kitchen, she looked around. Everything was the same but different. Pictures hung the same, furniture hadn’t been moved but the spirit in the house was gone. Her family was gone.

Ornate frames of different shapes and sizes holding smiling images of her family sat covered with a fine film of dust. Subconsciously moving her hand along the surface of the table she came to her senses when the tips of her fingers touched the cold metal to the frame of the most recently staged family picture. Her entire world had been shattered all because of the lust of a selfish, murderous woman, and she couldn't take it. She slapped the frames from the table and watched through burning tears as they bounced and crashed onto the floor. The fragmented pieces of the glass splattering and into a multitude of directions much as her life was now doing.

She had reneged on the promise to herself to never enter the house again and no one had been hurt but herself. By running in like a scared lost little girl seeking any form of comfort from the memories the house would evoke she had awaken the fear and loneliness it had taken her so hard to bank down. She should have stayed away.
Locking the patio door behind her, Debney strolled slowly to the guest house.

a review from ARC

In the wake of adversity Debney is put through the wringer, something that at her age should never happen.

But in this case it did and author Ey Wade did an excellent job with the plot and the emotional aspect.

I mentioned a dysfunctional family earlier, but the nice thing about this story is you don't realize the severity until the story unfolds. From every corner of her life Debney is challenged, and to see how she handles it...well you need to pick up this novel and if you know a teenager, place one in their hands for required reading.

Ms. Wade rolls out this story beautifully with impeccable timing. I was so engrossed and totally shocked at Debney's mother...the real reason I believe this book is called D.N.A.
A highly recommended read!
