My Drama Can Be Bought

Dear Journal: I just had to tell someone and you're the only one... Take a look at this, my author Ey Wade has made it possible to buy my story directly from her!! I'm so excited because as an author/entrepreneur, it means she will get 90% of the profit. Of course, if you prefer you could also buy from the traditional places.

-My Life Sucks- entry2

Today was the worst. I don't know how much longer I can handle it. I have never been soo angry. Emotions were just swirling so much inside, I had to count to nearly a thousand to calm down. Like I said before, I decided I would start writing in a journal. A little mimicking of the woman I used to call Mother. I am so hoping that writing down my feelings will give me peace.

At school, as usual I was harassed and ridiculed by a bunch of idiots. If they only knew how much I really want to hurt them, they would stay away. Isn't it bad enough I'm going through my own hell without having them give me more issues? All I could hear in my mind was that song. Pumped Up Kicks. You know the song, it's by Foster the People. Omg, they better be glad I'm not one of those kind of people. Rofl and that I'm afraid of guns.

That jerk Roody started it all. Giante' and I was standing in the hallway talking, well really arguing, when Roody and his little group interrupted us. Roody thinks he's so much because he's the quarterback on the football team. Ugh, I hate him. I don't even know how I made the mistake of sleeping with him. He probably took advantage of me while I was drunk, mad outta my mind. He called me by that now hated acronym made from the initials of my name, 'DNA'. I can't even explain to you how hard it was to stop myself from slapping his face or grabbing his throat.

As I looked around the group of laughing, mocking teens, I cursed myself for having stood still and out in the open for far too long. Like a deer in a pit of lions, I'd left myself vulnerable and open for attack. As usual I was stared at, criticized and my stomach poked. Oh, did I forget to say I was pregnant? Well, go on a criticize me. Hold on, before you start or jump into any cliched conclusions, let me just say my story isn't the typical 'teen gone wild' tale. My story has a high school, drama, mean girls, a gorgeous (male) best friend...wait maybe it is a little typical, but I handle it better than many.
I made the stupid mistake of throwing a party while my parents weren't home, slept with I don't know who or how many and now...well you know. My life sucks

a review from ARC

In the wake of adversity Debney is put through the wringer, something that at her age should never happen.

But in this case it did and author Ey Wade did an excellent job with the plot and the emotional aspect.

I mentioned a dysfunctional family earlier, but the nice thing about this story is you don't realize the severity until the story unfolds. From every corner of her life Debney is challenged, and to see how she handles it...well you need to pick up this novel and if you know a teenager, place one in their hands for required reading.

Ms. Wade rolls out this story beautifully with impeccable timing. I was so engrossed and totally shocked at Debney's mother...the real reason I believe this book is called D.N.A.
A highly recommended read!
